uBack Giving Tuesday Celebration

Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (CST)

Highline Bar + Lounge
169 West Kinzie Street
Chicago, IL 60654

Giving Tuesday is a national day of giving that follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The idea behind Giving Tuesday is to encourage individuals not to forget the act of charitable giving during this important time of year.

As a Chicago-based mobile app we wanted to celebrate this year's Giving Tuesday here "at home" with our local nonprofit partners!

Join us for an evening of music, apps, drinks and great company on December 1st from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Highline Bar + Lounge.

Your ticket into this celebration is a donation of at least $20 to a local uBack nonprofit for non-students. For students admission will be a donation of at least $10 to a local uBack  nonprofit.

Download uBack to make your donation on December 1st: Apple, Android. Show the receipt stored in uBack at the door to gain admission.

A new company says it helps nonprofits 'meet the donors where they are, which is on their phone'

Kaitlin Reimann is working to put fewer obstacles between nonprofits and their donors' bank accounts.

Reimann, a Chicago native, used her experience on numerous nonprofit boards and her work as a consultant to start uBack, whose mobile app allows users to make immediate donations.

The app simplifies the donating process, and organizations that use the program can scrap physical fundraising events, she says.

"It's an opportunity for those who want to support and give back to not-for-profits to be able to do so everyday if they wanted to," she said.

Reimann will present uBack at a Technori pitch event focusing on social impact Tuesday night at the Chase Auditorium. Desiree Vargas Wrigley ⇒, co-founder of Chicago-based GiveForward, will give the keynote address.
